The location of Ilulissat is breathtaking - all year round huge icebergs raising more than a hundred metres above sea level are stranded in the ice fjord just south of the town. The scenic flight from Kangerlussuaq to Ilulissat is a true excursion in its self where the arrival and departure in low altitude over the amazing ice fjord is an experience of a lifetime.

I2W: The Icebergs of Sermermiut
By car as far as the road goes followed by an easy hike to a viewpoint from where the magnificent icebergs at the mouth of the Ice Fiord can be seen.
Duration: 2-3 hours (approx.) Price: DKK 225 including refreshment (Approx. £28).
I3W: Hunter's Settlement
By boat to the small settlement Rodebay (Oqaitsut), which is only accessible by boat or dog sledge. The settlement has approx. 40 inhabitants who are entirely depending upon fishing and hunting - a quite different world compared to the nearby town of Ilulissat. Lunch at a local restaurant and time to stroll around in the village before returning to Ilulissat.

Operated by boat when open water - expected to be until late November and from mid March, but might also be all winter. When the fiord is frozen the village is only accessible by dog sledge: Please see full day excursion by dog sledge.

I4W: Iceberg cruise by boat
Ilulissat is world famous for its icebergs and a cruise provides the perfect opportunity to get close to these gigantic sculptures created by nature.
Only operated when open water. Expected to be until late November and from mid March, but might also be all winter.
Duration: 2½ hours (approx.) Price: DKK 450 incl. refreshment (Approx. £55).
I5W: By Helicopter to the Ice Cap
During your stay in Ilulissat the guide will try to arrange an excursion by helicopter – including a ground stop where clients can leave the helicopter! During the flight we cruise in low altitude over the Ilulissat Ice-Fjord which is now on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Note: Operation will depend on the weather and helicopter capacity. – CAN ONLY BE BOOKED LOCALLY!

I6W: Greenland Hunter's Settlement
By boat to the small settlement of Ilimanaq, which is situated just south of the Kangia Ice Fiord. Ilimanaq has a population of approx. 80 persons mainly depending upon fishing and hunting. A completely different world compared to the town of Ilulissat. Upon arrival in Ilimanaq guided tour of the settlement before enjoying our lunch with a local family.

Ilimanaq is only accessible by boat and is therefore only operated when open water - expected to be until late November and from mid March, but might also be all winter.

I9W: Dog Sledge Adventure

The route will be depending upon actual snow and ice conditions.
